One of my favorite places to hang out in NYC is the Highline Park. There is always something new to discover here. Each month during the summer, the Highline hosts several free events perfect for families with kids 0-12 years old. This year, I plan to check out their “Make It” series…and then grab some popsicles with the kiddos! I missed the first event back in June, but I plan on these next three…

  • Saturday, 7/29/17
  • 10am-1pm
  • Explore different traditions and ecosystems through dance, art, music, and storytelling. It’s in collaboration with Abya Yala Arte y Cultura, and parts of the program will be in English and Spanish.

  • Saturday, 8/26/17
  • 10am-1pm
  • Design movable creations with the Children’s Workyard Kit and learn new dance moves! Art work is led by Arch for Kids and live performance by Caribbean Vibe!

  • Saturday, 9/23/17
  • 10am-1pm
  • Create mixed media garden sculptures that will age over time. There will be storytelling with live music, with a performance from Story Pirates.

All events are held on the Highline at 14t St. (West 14th St. and 10th Ave. NYC, 10011) Nearest subways are A/C/E/L/1/2/3 @ 14th St.
